Lokta paper has been made in the highlands of Nepal for over a thousand years. The raw material is the bark of the Daphne plant (lokta shrub), which grows above 1,600 metres. Bark is harvested, boiled, pulped by hand, spread on wooden frames, and sun-dried on hillsides. The resulting sheet is naturally textured, resistant to insects and humidity, and carries a warmth that machine-made paper simply does not replicate.

This calendar takes that material and pairs it with imagery drawn from folk art traditions around the world, organized through a theme of flowers and plants. The intent is straightforward: each month page works as a small window into a different visual culture. The calendar is assembled by hand by craftspeople, so no two are identical. Amina Collection Co., Ltd. sources and develops products that keep traditional craft techniques in active production rather than in museums.
