The Whiteboard Calendar was designed around a simple frustration: paper calendars fill up fast, and separate whiteboards take up extra wall space. MIDORI's solution was to stack both functions vertically on a single wall-hanging unit. The top holds a monthly block calendar on swappable paper sheets (12 included), while the bottom is a fixed whiteboard panel of the same width, sized to hold a week's worth of notes or a running to-do list.

The Family variant extends this logic to households with multiple schedules. Its whiteboard section is ruled into columns, one per person, with color-coded headers for up to four family members. The included ultra-fine marker writes on both the paper calendar and the whiteboard surface, so there's one tool for the whole panel.

Numbers and text are set in Universal Design Font, a typeface category developed in Japan to improve legibility across a wide range of readers, including those with visual impairments or reading differences. Rokuyo, the traditional six-day Japanese calendar cycle, was removed starting with the 2025 edition to simplify the grid.
