About Postcard
This postcard shows a hanami (cherry blossom viewing) picnic somewhere in Japan, highlighting the everyday items people bring with them. Instead of an idealized scene, I focused on the objects spread across the ground and the small clues they offer about who’s there, who brought what, and how people share the space. I imagined the picnic as one shared by Japanese and foreign friends, where small details might quietly reveal those differences.
