Behind the Design

The Mako tape holder was designed around a two-part system: the outer body (Mako) and a removable inner spool called the Komaki Core. Rather than threading tape through the holder each time you switch rolls, you rewind new tape onto a fresh Komaki Core and drop it straight in.

The Komaki Core pack addresses the friction that comes with switching between tape colors or patterns mid-project. With 10 cores in a single package, you can prepare rolls in advance and keep the Mako body in constant use.

The Komaki Core is a replacement inner spool for Kanmido's Mako tape holder. Wind your stock masking tape onto a Komaki Core, slot it into the Mako body, and you're ready to cut. Each pack contains 10 cores, so you can pre-load multiple tape rolls and swap them in seconds.
