The T-45 is built around a simple mechanical insight: a blade that is bowed rather than flat. By curving the 45mm alloy tool steel blade, OLFA gave it natural spring. Press lightly and only the center of the blade contacts the surface; press harder and the blade flattens out, engaging the full width. This means one tool handles both fine, controlled scraping and broad surface work without swapping attachments.

The blade can also be rotated to use any of its four edges, and flipped so the non-sharpened edge faces the surface when you want to scrape gently without cutting in. The grip is glass-fiber-reinforced polypropylene, chosen for solvent resistance since scrapers often get used alongside paint strippers and cleaning chemicals. A screw-secured blade clamp and a plastic protective cap round out the design, keeping the blade locked during use and covered during storage.
