Standard box cutters solve one problem while creating another: the blade that slices through packaging tape has nothing stopping it from continuing into the contents below. OLFA's 210B approaches unpacking differently by separating the cutting action from any downward pressure on the cargo.

The beak-shaped guide is inserted under the film or band, and the user scoops upward, cutting away from the surface rather than into it. The blade never needs to travel toward the goods because the geometry of the tool does the work instead. A stainless steel tape slitter on the body handles carton sealing tape through the same logic: score along the tape line without plunging toward whatever is packed inside.

Practical details round out the design. The nylon resin body resists abrasion and solvents, relevant in warehouse and distribution environments where cutting oils and cleaners are common. A cord attachment hole at the rear lets the tool be tethered to a belt or workstation. Each blade installs into one of four numbered slots, rotating to the next position when sharpness drops, so replacement intervals are stretched and the per-cut cost stays low.
