Behind the Design

Standard rotary cutters typically use 45mm blades, which work well for light fabric but lose momentum through thick or stacked layers. OLFA's LL Type steps up to a 60mm blade, giving it a larger cutting radius and more contact area per rotation. That extra diameter means less resistance when pushing through multiple layers of fabric, rubber sheeting, or film in a single pass.

The blade cover slides forward by pulling it toward the user, exposing the blade only during active cutting. After use, the cover returns over the blade. The handle geometry is symmetrical, so the cutter switches between left and right hands without modification. The blade is user-replaceable, using OLFA's standard rotary blade system.

A rotary cutter with a 60mm tungsten steel blade, sized for cutting thick fabrics, stacked layers, rubber sheets, and film. The blade retracts into a cover and the grip works for both left- and right-handed users. This model has received both the Good Design Award and the Good Design Long Life Award.
