The Al-Lock pencil case came out of a very specific frustration: elementary school students constantly having their pencil case lids pop open inside their randoseru, scattering pencils, erasers, and sharpeners to the bottom of the bag. Sonic's answer was the Al-Lock mechanism, a latch system that locks both sides of a double-sided case simultaneously and only opens with a deliberate press.

The Riana Tiara Classic variant pairs that function with an embroidered exterior and a dot-patterned interior lining. The 29mm slim profile was sized specifically to sit flat against the inner wall of a standard randoseru without taking up the space a textbook needs. The pen holder is arranged for six pencils, which matches the typical count a Japanese elementary classroom requires for a single school day.
