Behind the Design

Petit Joie takes its color cues from gemstones, translating the depth and richness of precious stones into a washi tape palette. Each shade is named after a gem: the cool violet of Amethyst, the deep blue of Blue Sapphire, the milky translucence of Moonstone, the warm red of Ruby, the golden yellow of Citrine, and the soft green of Jade.

The tape uses a washi base, which gives it a slightly textured, matte surface that takes on color differently than a plastic-backed tape. It tears cleanly across the roll without scissors, adheres flat without bubbling, and lifts off most surfaces without tearing the paper underneath. The 15mm width sits in a useful middle range: wide enough to be visible as a design element, narrow enough for fine borders and small labels.
