The Uka Sapo addresses a specific, recurring problem for elementary school students: arriving at school with unsharpened pencils. Sonic's solution was a transparent panel running along the side of the case, so pencil tips are visible without opening the lid. A quick glance tells you whether pencils are ready for use.

The silicone pencil holders came from a secondary problem: pencils sliding and jumbling inside the case during movement. By gripping each pencil individually, the holders keep everything in place even when a child is running.

The W Sheet reinforcement layers mesh fabric and PVC at the zipper area, which is typically the first part of a pencil case to fail after repeated daily opening and closing. The built-in sharpener was given a transparent shaving compartment for the same reason as the pencil window: visibility removes the need to remember. The slim 32mm profile was sized to slide into a school bag front pocket alongside the main compartment contents, or fit horizontally in any available gap.
