Scoring and snapping hard plastic requires a different kind of cutter than paper or film. Standard utility knives flex under lateral pressure, which makes clean score lines on acrylic or PVC boards difficult and inconsistent.

OLFA designed the P Cutter L-Type specifically around this task. The blade is thicker than a standard cutter blade and made from tungsten steel, which holds an edge through repeated scoring passes on hard materials. A screw lock clamps the blade firmly in place, eliminating the rattle and give that rack-and-detent sliders can develop under sustained force.

The body is oversized by design. The larger grip lets you bear down with more control during the score-and-snap process: score past the halfway point of the sheet's thickness, then snap cleanly from the edge. The blade's spine can then be used to chamfer the cut edge. When not in use, the blade retracts fully into the body. Two replacement blades are stored inside the handle, each usable from both ends, giving four fresh cutting surfaces before you need new stock.
