The Ojisan character has quietly built a devoted following through MIDORI's stationery line. He is a middle-aged man of no particular urgency, living alongside his dogs and moving through ordinary days at his own pace. What makes the calendar format a good fit for him is that each month gets its own vignette: a different scene, a different mood, always unhurried.

The design team integrates the illustrations directly into the grid rather than separating art from function. Ojisan and the dogs appear to wander across the ruled lines, so the calendar is doing two things at once. Index tabs let you flip quickly to the current month, and the date boxes are sized to hold actual handwritten notes, not just a number. The S and M sizes share the same illustration content and structure, differing mainly in footprint to fit different desk setups.
