The Ojisan calendar grew out of MIDORI's long-running character series featuring a gentle, unhurried older man and his dogs. Each month presents a new illustrated scene drawn directly into the calendar grid, with Ojisan moving along the ruled lines as part of the composition. The illustrations change across the year, so flipping to a new month feels more like turning the page of a picture book than updating a calendar.

The holder is designed for flexibility. The cloth cover gives it a firm, book-like feel, so the whole unit can be held in one hand and written on without a hard surface underneath. A PVC sheet on the front keeps the calendar face clean from desk contact when laid flat. The pen holder slot is integrated into the holder spine, keeping a pen within reach without a separate stand or tray.
