Behind the Design

BGM's B-side Label line treats sticker design as a quiet, considered exercise. The Nordic Knitting series draws on the geometric repeat patterns found in traditional Scandinavian knitwear and translates them into foil-stamped flake stickers on tracing paper.

The choice of tracing paper is the key decision here. Where an opaque sticker sits on top of a surface, a tracing paper sticker becomes part of it, picking up the color and texture of whatever it's placed on. The foil stamp adds contrast and a fine metallic sheen without making the sticker feel heavy. Released in four colorways in January 2024, each pack offers enough variety in the 15 designs to use them across different layouts without repetition.

Flake stickers printed on semi-transparent tracing paper, each one foil stamped with a Nordic knitting motif. The set includes 45 stickers across 15 designs (3 of each), and the translucency of the paper lets whatever is underneath show through when layered.
