Most oil-based markers are general-purpose tools, but name-labeling on fabric has its own demands: ink that stays put through repeated washing and doesn't bleed into the weave before it dries. The Namae Senka was designed around a proprietary high-viscosity ink formulation that addresses both problems at once, spreading less on fibrous surfaces and drying faster than standard oil-based ink.

The twin-tip format came from the reality of labeling school supplies and clothing. A gym uniform needs a large, readable name written quickly; a pencil or eraser needs a much finer line. Rather than switching between two markers, the Namae Senka puts a 0.8mm tip on one end and a 0.4mm tip on the other. The alcohol-based ink also has no harsh solvent odor, and the ventilation safety cap meets safety standards for everyday household and school use.
