Behind the Design

Shin Nihon Calendar produces this moon-phase wall calendar in two distinct editions, each built around a different relationship with lunar symbolism. Gold Moon leans into the idea of rising fortune, presenting the daily moon shape in gold tones associated with good luck. Lucky Moon uses the color yellow, traditionally linked to auspicious energy in Japan, as its palette for the same daily phase tracking.

Both editions display the moon's shape for every day of the year, paired with rokuyō, the six-day traditional Japanese cycle that still influences decisions around weddings, business openings, and travel. The old lunar calendar is also printed alongside the Gregorian dates, making both editions a reference for anyone who follows multiple calendar systems.
