Launched in March 2014, the MONO Graph was designed around a simple problem: mechanical pencils with good erasers tend to be bulky, and those with good lead-advance mechanisms rarely erase well. Tombow's answer was to pair their MONO eraser, one of the most trusted eraser formulas in Japan, with a rotary retractable mechanism at the top so the eraser retracts flush when not in use.

The Frenock shake mechanism removes the need to locate the knock button mid-writing. A downward shake advances the lead automatically, keeping your grip and focus on the page. The Frelock toggle prevents the knock from engaging inside a bag or pencil case, but leaves the clip-knock functional regardless of lock state, a deliberate detail so the pencil stays usable when clipped to a notebook or shirt pocket.

The 4mm fixed pipe tip is the same spec used in drafting pencils, giving a clear sightline to the writing line for use on ruled paper and graph sheets. The pastel color series was introduced to broaden the lineup beyond the classic MONO colorway, targeting students who wanted the same engineering in a softer, more personal palette.
