Behind the Design

SEED developed this kneaded eraser in collaboration with a design school, taking a tool that artists and illustrators have used for decades and rethinking what it could look like.

The result is a lamé-finish eraser that carries metallic glitter through the body of the rubber. Each of the three colorways has a distinct scent embedded in the material: strawberry for Meta Red, blueberry for Meta Blue, and lemon for Meta Gold. It functions identically to a standard kneaded eraser, pulling graphite and charcoal from paper without leaving residue, but the material and the finish make it something you might actually leave on your desk rather than bury in a drawer.
