Behind the Design

KOKUYO ME is a line built around the idea that functional stationery does not have to look purely functional. Rather than defaulting to the standard black, blue, or translucent bodies found on most gel pens, ME pulls its color direction from fashion and interior trend reports.

This release uses soft pastel pink (BRIGHTSAND) and green (TENNIS) alongside a vivid pool blue (POOLBLUE), with a low-brightness red (TARTANRED) that references athletic track surfaces. The combination creates a palette that feels cohesive rather than random, sporty without being loud. The body itself is polycarbonate, keeping the pen lightweight and the color saturation clean.
