Behind the Design

The Life 5mm series was designed around the constraints of a narrow tape width. At just 5mm, each design had to be composed to read clearly in a very small space, which led BGM toward clean, repeating motifs that work as borders or dividers without overwhelming the surrounding page.

Released in March 2025, the three designs in this set cover different moods: Leisure Time with hobby-themed imagery, Star Dream with celestial motifs, and Peeled Apple with a playful food illustration. The non-foil washi construction keeps the tape matte and paper-like, so it sits flush with handwritten notes rather than drawing contrast against them.

A 5mm washi tape series from BGM with tiny, detailed designs sized to fit neatly inside planner grids and along card borders. The non-foil finish keeps things subtle, so the tape reads as decoration rather than embellishment. Three designs available individually.
