Behind the Design

The Marchen Party series takes its name from the German word for fairy tale, and the tapes lean fully into that storybook atmosphere. Warm-toned animal characters gathered around party scenes are paired with foil stamping, a printing technique that presses metallic film into the washi surface to create a subtle shimmer on specific details.

Each design in the series carries a distinct mood: Milk Tea leans soft and cozy, Perfume has a more elegant, botanical feel, and Garden places the characters in an outdoor setting. The three designs were released together in March 2025 as part of BGM's washi tape lineup.
