Behind the Design

The Tile Art series draws from the visual language of decorative ceramic tiles, translating their repeating geometric patterns onto washi tape. BGM added foil stamping to the process, pressing a metallic layer into the tape surface so the pattern catches light differently depending on the angle.

Six designs cover a range of moods: botanical (Rose), celestial (Space, Night Sky), architectural (Blue Roof Tile), playful (Paw Print), and coastal (Ocean). Released in September 2023, the series sits in BGM's broader line of patterned washi tapes aimed at journaling and paper crafts.

BGM's Tile Art masking tape brings foil stamping to washi tape, layering a metallic sheen over geometric tile-inspired patterns. Six designs span motifs from roses and ocean waves to paw prints and night skies, each on a 15mm x 5m roll of Japanese paper.
