Floatune is Pentel's ballpoint line built around one idea: reducing the friction that makes writing feel like work. The system pairs a continuous ink-flow mechanism with a cushion effect inside the tip, so the ball glides with minimal drag. The result is what Pentel calls a "floating" sensation, somewhere between a ballpoint and a gel pen without committing to either.

This set is the second limited edition in the Floatune line, and where the first explored color, this one focuses on time. The theme is "the sky and the passage of time," with each pen's gradient body representing a different hour: the soft warmth of Sunny Morning, the full spectrum of a midday Rainbow, and the deep reds of Crimson Sky at dusk. The idea behind the set is simple: when you reach for one of these pens mid-task, it gives you a moment that feels like looking up at the sky, a small reset that makes the next stretch of work feel a little more manageable.

The Rainbow design does not exist outside this set. The glossy outer packaging is intentionally reusable: the reverse side can be cut and folded into a bookmark, so nothing gets thrown away.
