The Limited FA sits within OLFA's Limited series, which brings refined aesthetics to the company's functional cutter lineup. Where most snap-off knives offer a simple slide lock, the Limited FA uses OLFA's proprietary one-way lock mechanism: the blade locks firmly in the extended position during normal use, but if the knife is dropped, the mechanism allows the blade to retract back into the holder rather than staying exposed. It is a detail aimed at reducing accidental cuts in a scenario most users don't think about until it happens.

The body is finished in a high-gloss silver paint that gives it a weight and presence unusual for a everyday cutter. The rounded profile reduces pressure on the palm during extended cutting sessions. The knife ships with a special black blade, which is ground to a sharper angle than OLFA's standard blades, so the cutting performance out of the box is noticeably crisper. Reversing the blade for left-handed use requires no tools.
