Kazuko Furuta was born in Tokyo in 1985 and completed her graduate studies in Japanese painting at Tohoku University of Art and Design in 2015. She relocated to Yamagata for university and has since worked from the foothills of Nishi-Zao, participating in land-rooted art projects such as Hizaisai in Mashiko and Hijiori no Tomoshi in Ogura Village. In 2017 she received the 5th Setagaya Art Award "Hisho." Her recent work spans mural painting, furniture, and art direction for musician Sakura Fujiwara.

The CWP (Creative Works Print) series brings Furuta's paintings into collaboration with TOUCH & FLOW, layering digital reproduction with raised foil and transparent resin coating. The goal is not to replicate the originals but to create something new from them: a printed surface with physical depth, where light catches foil and the coating adds contour.

Each of the four designs carries its own origin: "Chase" came from watching a dog run freely across a meadow. "Memory of Red Berries" was inspired by someone's dream of a monochrome world with a single owl, the only colour coming from red berries. "Breathing" imagines a serow treading a soft brown carpet of fallen cedar needles on a forest floor. "Lion and Forest" revisits a childhood toy lion, imagining the adventure it might have gone on after it was lost. The teak frame is natural material, so grain, tone, and surface variation differ between each piece.
