Kazuko Furuta was born in Tokyo in 1985 and completed her graduate studies in nihonga (Japanese painting) at Tohoku University of Art and Design in 2015. She relocated to Yamagata Prefecture for university and has worked ever since at the foot of Nishi-Zao, participating in land-rooted art projects such as Hijiotsubo no Hi in Oguni and Tsuchimatsuri in Mashiko. In 2017 she received the 5th Setagaya Arts Award "Hisho." Her practice sits within the nihonga tradition while pushing toward a distinct personal vision, and in recent years she has produced artwork for musician Sakura Fujiwara alongside mural and furniture commissions.

The CWP (Creative Works Print) series is a collaboration between TOUCH & FLOW and Furuta, translating her paintings of "the lives of animals and plants inhabiting the land" into a reproducible format that still carries physical presence. Each poster is printed digitally on selected Japanese paper, then finished with foil stamping and clear resin varnish that build genuine texture above the surface. The teak wood frame, sourced from northern Thailand for its density and low expansion rate, holds the piece behind a removable acrylic panel specifically so the viewer can set the panel aside and touch the work directly.

Each of the four designs carries its own story: "Tayutau (Drifting)" imagines the onward journey of a beloved childhood lion plush; "Veranda no Koibitotachi (Lovers on the Veranda)" recalls a pair of doves nesting on the artist's family balcony; "Te to Wataridori no Kioku (Memories of Hands and Migratory Birds)" layers personal hometown memories over the many unseen hands that shaped that place; and "Moment" captures the shock of first diving underwater, the feeling of arriving on an entirely different planet.
