Behind the Design

BGM's Life series takes everyday moments, coffee breaks, fresh tomatoes, small domestic rituals, and translates them into repeating tape patterns at a scale that fits the margins of a journal page or the edge of a card.

The 5mm width is a deliberate choice. Most decorative washi tape runs 15mm or wider, which limits where you can use it without it dominating the page. At 5mm, the tape slots into the narrow spaces: the gutter between columns, the top border of a sticky note, the ruled lines of a planner. The Life series designs are drawn to work at this scale, with motifs that tile neatly without becoming cluttered.
