The &knot series takes its name from the idea of connecting people and moments through everyday objects. The carabiner body is the central idea: instead of designing another pen that lives at the bottom of a bag, the &knot attaches to the outside of it, visible and reachable in a single motion.

The magnetic cap reinforces that same logic. Traditional caps require two hands or at least a deliberate grip to pull free. A magnet releases with a light tug and re-seats with a satisfying click, reducing the friction between having a thought and writing it down.

Jetstream oil-based ink was chosen for the refill because its low-viscosity formula writes smoothly on most paper surfaces without skipping, and dries fast enough to avoid smearing. The four body colors, Lantern Orange, Ginger Yellow, Steam White, and Cedar Green, are drawn from natural and outdoor references, reinforcing the carabiner aesthetic without leaning into pure utility gear.
