The Harinacs series was KOKUYO's answer to a small but persistent office problem: staples that need sorting before paper recycling, metal fragments mixed into discarded documents, and the constant need to reload a staple cartridge. By pressing a pair of arrow-shaped blades through the paper stack and folding the cut tabs back through a slot, Harinacs creates a hold that resists casual separation without any metal at all.

The Compact Alpha model takes that core mechanism and shrinks it to palm size, making it light enough to clip to a notebook via the strap hole. The Transparent Mechanism edition adds a clear polycarbonate body so the internal geometry is fully visible, and the hinged inspection window on the binding face lets you line up the hole position before committing to the bind. The body and lever are molded from R-PC, a recycled polycarbonate that carries 50% post-industrial content, keeping the staple-free ethos consistent with the materials choice.
