The Hanko Letter Set takes its name from the hanko stamp, the small personal seal used throughout Japanese daily life for signatures and approvals. Rather than recreating formal hanko imagery, Furukawashiko uses the hand-stamped aesthetic as a design language: slightly soft edges, an impression of ink on paper, patterns that feel personal rather than printed.

The paper is Mino Washi, a traditional Japanese paper produced in Gifu Prefecture with roots going back over a thousand years. Its texture absorbs ink gently and gives letters a tactile warmth that standard paper does not. The five motifs in this renewed series, panda and clover, warm mimosa, cream soda, swimming otter, and round little bird, are drawn to feel relaxed and unguarded, the kind of imagery that makes writing a letter feel low-stakes and enjoyable rather than formal.
