OLFA's H-Type Saw takes the familiar slide-blade cutter form and replaces the standard snap-off blade with a purpose-ground saw blade. The upper-cut tooth geometry pulls the blade into the cut on the pull stroke, reducing tear-out and giving a cleaner finish in wood and plastic than a simple crosscut tooth pattern would.

The impact-hardening process used on the blade addresses the main weakness of saw blades at this size: they can be brittle. By combining hardness with toughness through the impact-hardening treatment, the blade holds its edge through repeated use without chipping. The screw-lock mechanism keeps the blade fixed during cutting, and the stainless steel holder resists flex. When not in use, the blade slides fully into the ABS body, eliminating the need for a separate sheath. The same body also accepts standard OLFA Extra Large H cutter blades, so one handle can serve two functions depending on which blade is loaded.
