Behind the Design

These mini keychains take the familiar silhouette of round eyeglasses and turns it into a fully functional folding scissor. When open, the loops become finger rings and the lenses reveal the blades. When closed, the blades tuck away and the whole piece reads as a pair of specs at a glance.

The design solves a common problem with portable scissors: they usually need a sheath or cover to be safe in a bag. Here, the folding mechanism IS the cover. The stainless steel blades are protected by the resin frame when collapsed, and the flat 5mm profile means it takes up almost no space. KITERA offers it in seven colors, including a camouflage print for those who want the gag to land even harder.

A pair of scissors disguised as a pair of glasses: fold the blades together and the whole thing collapses into a compact eyeglass frame shape. At just 5mm thick, it slips into a pocket or pencil case without a case of its own. Made in Japan from stainless steel with resin frames in seven colors.
