Pochi envelopes (ぽち袋) are small Japanese gift envelopes traditionally used for New Year's money gifts, tips, and small cash presents. The word "pochi" comes from a Kansai dialect term for "a little something," and the format has been part of Japanese gifting culture for centuries.

This renewed series brings in the irreverent hand-drawn stamp style of Fumiwo, an artist known for playful, slightly cheeky character designs. Rather than the usual auspicious New Year motifs, these envelopes feature five icons from Japanese history and literature: industrialist Eiichi Shibusawa (who appeared on the new 10,000-yen note), warlord Hideyoshi Toyotomi, novelist Soseki Natsume, writer Osamu Dazai, and revolutionary Ryoma Sakamoto. Each is paired with a caption that plays on their legacy or personality, from Natsume's feline connection to Dazai's sardonic edge. The result is an envelope that says as much as the money inside it.
