Behind the Design

This sticker sheet series was created in collaboration with Aya Inoue, a Japanese illustrator known for her warm, detailed depictions of sweets and café scenes. The four designs — Victoria Cake, Parfait, Sundae, and Trifle — draw from the visual language of vintage European and Japanese dessert culture, rendered with a soft, hand-drawn quality.

Furukawashiko chose washi paper as the base rather than a standard glossy stock. Washi has a slight texture and absorbency that changes how foil stamping behaves: instead of a mirror-bright flash, the foil takes on a gentler, more antique shimmer. This pairs well with the retro dessert theme and makes the stickers feel considered rather than generic.

Each sheet holds 5 stickers, sized to work across a range of uses: envelope sealing, planner decoration, card embellishment, or gift wrapping accents.

Each sheet measures 140×80mm and comes in one of four retro dessert designs: Victoria Cake, Parfait, Sundae, or Trifle. The washi texture gives the foil a softer, more nostalgic finish than standard coated stock.
