Behind the Design

Kissa Alamode is BGM's ongoing series built around the visual world of the kissaten, the classic Japanese-style café that flourished from the 1950s through the 1980s. The muted color palettes, ornate glassware, parfaits, and slightly surreal interiors of those spaces form the backdrop for each release.

The "meets" sub-series brings independent illustrators into that world. Each creator interprets the kissaten theme through their own visual language, producing designs that sit somewhere between nostalgia and fantasy. For this release, illustrator aya.m contributes a fancy and mysterious mood, while fujiko brings a warmer, more relaxed café atmosphere. Aurora foil stamping is applied selectively across each design, adding a color-shifting shimmer that shifts depending on the light angle. The stickers are printed on washi for a softer, slightly textured surface.

Forty-five washi flake stickers per pack, each one accented with aurora foil stamping across retro-pop café illustrations. This is a collaboration between BGM's Kissa Alamode series and independent illustrators, bringing a slightly mysterious, old-style Japanese kissaten atmosphere into sticker form.
