Behind the Design

Furukawashiko's die-cut calendar series takes the standard desk calendar format and removes the rectangular frame entirely. Each design is cut to follow its own outline, so the calendar becomes a small sculptural object as much as a functional one.

The 2027 edition spans six designs: Furukawashiko's own illustration style alongside five Peko-chan (the Fujiya confectionery mascot) crossover editions pairing her with Sanrio characters. The folding easel is compact enough to sit on a narrow shelf or entryway ledge without taking up much surface area.

A 12-month desk calendar where each design is die-cut into its own shape, so the silhouette changes depending on which version you pick. It sits on a small folding easel and covers Furukawashiko's original illustrations alongside Peko-chan crossover designs with Hello Kitty, My Melody, Kuromi, and Cinnamoroll.
