Behind the Design

Tokyo Cartographic designed this desk mat around a simple constraint: remove all the country names from a world map and replace them with numbers. The map becomes both a working desk surface and a reference puzzle.

The answer key lives on the back. Each number corresponds to a row on the reverse side that shows the national flag, country name, and capital city. You can check your answers without leaving your desk, or ignore the quiz entirely and use it as a plain world map. The A4 PET-laminated format keeps it flat and wipe-clean on any desk surface.
