The Coupy Pencil was born from a simple question: what if a colored pencil were made entirely of pigment, with no wooden shell around a thin core? By eliminating the casing, SAKURA solved several longstanding frustrations at once. The core can no longer snap inside the barrel, because there is no barrel. Mistakes can be erased. The tip can be sharpened to a point for detail work. And because the entire stick is usable pigment, it holds roughly four times as much color as a standard colored pencil of the same length.

The result sits in a category of its own: the smooth, saturated color laydown of a crayon with the fine-line control of a pencil. The 12-color Soft Case version is packaged for portability, while the 12+3 Elementary School set adds three extra colors curated for classroom use. Both include a sharpener and eraser in the box.
