Behind the Design

Standard cellophane tape rolls use a paper core, and that core gradually sheds fine paper dust as the tape unwinds. In a clean room or any dust-sensitive workspace, that shedding is a problem. Nichiban's CRCT-18 replaces the paper core with a polyethylene resin core, removing that source of contamination entirely.

The tape itself is standard cellophane with a rubber-based adhesive, kept flexible and soft for hand-tearing. The formulation is tuned to generate minimal static electricity, which matters in environments where static can attract airborne particles or disturb lightweight materials like memo sheets. It bonds to polyethylene surfaces, which many standard tapes struggle with, making it useful beyond clean rooms for general light-duty adhesion tasks where contamination control matters.

A cellophane tape built around a plastic core instead of a paper one, which means no stray paper dust shedding into sensitive environments. It generates almost no static electricity, so it won't attract dust particles or accidentally lift paper off a surface during use.
