Behind the Design

MIDORI's Illustrated Pocket Diary series is built around the idea that a diary should feel like something you look forward to opening, not just a scheduling tool. Each month gets a new illustration, so the book shifts visually as the year moves along.

The 2027 edition features work by illustrator Sayo Koizumi across five designs. The Cat design pairs soft, warm drawings of relatable feline moments with short written columns. A bonus section at the back covers cat coat patterns, with notes on personality tendencies by coat type and cats with distinctive markings.

The three sizes serve different carrying habits: Mini fits in a jacket pocket, Slim works in a bag without adding bulk, and B6 gives more writing space per day.
