The standard Campus notebook has been a staple of Japanese students for decades, but one frustration persisted: the center spine. It bows up when open, forcing writers to press it flat, disrupting rulers, and creating shadows in smartphone photos of notes.

KOKUYO addressed this directly with a flat-binding construction that holds the notebook fully open without any pressure. The dot-ruled lines are designed as a two-page spread rather than mirrored single pages, so the grid aligns continuously from left edge to right edge. A time-entry column along the margin supports timer-based study methods like the Pomodoro technique.

The flat-open format also removes the distortion that typically appears when photographing notes, making the notebook compatible with digital note apps like CarryCampus and Clearnote. The result is a notebook built around the full workflow of a modern student: writing, measuring, and archiving digitally.
