A recurring frustration for elementary school children in Japan is the pencil case lid popping open inside a randoseru, scattering pencils and erasers before class even starts. Sonic's Brave Allock case was designed specifically around that problem.

The "Allock" mechanism is a snap-close lock built into the lid hinge. It requires an intentional press to release, so the case stays shut during the jostling of a commute, but opens easily with one hand once at the desk. The body is double-sided, giving access to contents from either face, and the interior holds up to 6 pencils in a fixed holder arrangement that keeps everything in place even when the case is flipped.

At 29mm thick, the case is designed to fit into the slim side pockets and gaps of a standard randoseru without forcing the bag out of shape. The polygon surface pattern comes from Sonic's Brave series, aimed at older elementary-age students who want something that reads less like a toy.
