MIDORI's Bird Pattern calendar pairs a specific pet bird species with the flower or plant associated with that month, giving each illustration its own botanical logic. January opens with a Java Sparrow among wintersweet blossoms; October places a Diamond Dove beside a pumpkin. The pairings aren't arbitrary: they follow seasonal cues, so the calendar doubles as a loose field guide to what's blooming when.

The 2027 edition introduces five new subjects. Bourke's Parrot appears in June, its facial markings compared to a daruma figure. The Daylily, Plumeria, Cockscomb, and Diamond Dove round out the new additions, filling gaps in both the bird roster and the seasonal plant calendar. Each illustration shows the bird mid-action: carrying a stem, tilting its head, or perched mid-conversation among leaves. The ring binding holds the calendar upright on a desk, and the back of each sheet is left plain, usable as notepaper once the month turns.
