Behind the Design

The Gochisou valo series brings illustrator valo's signature food-focused artwork to everyday stationery. Valo is known for warm, detailed drawings of morning meals and desserts, and the two cover designs here reflect that world directly: one features a checkered pattern built around a meal setting, the other is filled with scattered sweets illustrations.

The notebook itself is a straightforward B6 ring format with grid ruling, a combination chosen to handle a wide range of uses without getting in the way. The ring binding lets the cover fold back flat, and the B6 footprint keeps it from taking up too much space in a bag or on a desk.

A B6 ring notebook from a collaboration with illustrator valo, whose work centers on breakfast scenes and sweet treats. Grid-ruled pages keep writing, sketches, and lists organized, and the compact size fits easily into a bag.
