Behind the Design

The Art Touch project pairs Touch & Flow with artists and designers to bring original artwork to everyday stationery formats. This postcard series is a collaboration with Yachiyo Sekino, a designer and illustrator who studied media art at Joshibi University of Art and Design, spent eleven years at a stationery manufacturer, and later served as a research assistant at Joshibi before founding WATER&PALETTE in 2018.

Sekino painted each floral motif using Winsor & Newton transparent watercolors on Holbein WATERFORD paper, chosen for the way it holds pigment while preserving luminosity. The reproduction is calibrated to keep that fresh, layered quality intact so the postcard reads less like a print and more like a sheet pulled from a sketchbook.
