Behind the Design

The Art Touch project is TOUCH & FLOW's ongoing effort to bring original artwork into everyday life through objects people actually use and send. These postcards came out of a collaboration with illustrator Shoko Sakuma, who balances a full-time position at a Tokyo manufacturer with her design and illustration practice.

Sakuma draws and paints using pencil and Winsor & Newton watercolors, and the results have a gentle, hand-made quality that reads clearly even at postcard scale. The three designs, Wild Flowers, Thank You, and Wild Flowers in blue, each carry that same unhurried warmth. They're sized to standard postcard dimensions, so they can go straight into the mail without an envelope.
