Behind the Design

Marina Hamaguchi graduated from Tama Art University's oil painting program in 2011 and moved to Germany the same year, studying painting and contemporary art at the Dresden Academy of Fine Arts. Under the name kin.iro.hitode, she creates work with soft, nostalgic palettes that draw on memory and atmosphere rather than bold imagery. She received the Jury Award at the FACE2017 Sompo Japan Nipponkoa Art Award.

This postcard is a collaboration with TOUCH & FLOW, translating her watercolor sensibility into an everyday paper format. The pale pastel tones and quiet composition give it the feeling of something fleeting, a mood that sits at the edge of the holiday season without tipping into the overtly festive. The design includes the message "Merry Christmas!" and is sized to fit standard postcard mail, including Neko-pos delivery for orders of up to 20 items.
