Behind the Design

Marina Hamaguchi graduated from Tama Art University's oil painting program in 2011 and moved to Germany the same year, where she studied painting and contemporary art at the Dresden Academy of Fine Arts. After holding solo and group exhibitions in both Germany and Japan, and winning the Jury Award at the FACE2017 Sompo Japan Nipponkoa Art Award, she returned to Japan and began producing lifestyle goods under the name kin.iro.hitode.

This postcard series is part of TOUCH & FLOW's [Art Touch] project, which brings original artworks into everyday formats. Hamaguchi painted each design in Holbein transparent watercolors, building up soft, luminous layers that carry the feel of girlhood memories: a girl delivering wishes, the quiet moment of seeing off the moon, an invitation to a tea party, and an afternoon in a favorite garden. Each card is sized for standard mailing but also works framed as wall décor.
