Behind the Design

The Art Touch project was created to bring original artwork into daily life through the format of a postcard. TOUCH & FLOW collaborated with Junko Hirose, a Tokyo Zokei University graduate and member of the Hakujitsu-kai painting society, who works simultaneously as a realist oil painter and illustrator.

Each design in this series draws from seasonal Japanese subjects: cosmos, poppy, yuzu, cherry blossom, and watermelon. Hirose's characteristic approach, a light touch with color and a warmth that feels unhurried, carries through each image. The postcard format makes these small paintings sendable, turning a piece of art into something a friend can hold.

A collaboration between TOUCH & FLOW and painter-illustrator Junko Hirose, this standard-size postcard brings her realist oil painting sensibility into everyday correspondence. The light color palette and gentle brushwork come from an artist who exhibits at solo and group shows while also working as a commercial illustrator.
