Behind the Design

KOKUYO ME launched as a sub-line focused entirely on CMF: Color, Material, and Finish. Rather than adding features, the line asks what happens when a mass-market stationery brand treats sensory detail as the primary design variable.

The 2-Way Marking Pen is the 11th edition in that series. Its color palette draws on earthy, low-saturation tones: Canyon Clay, Dusty Olive, Graphite Blue, Bell Pepper Green. The dual-tip construction is not new to the marker category, but the KOKUYO ME version wraps it in colors that sit quietly on a desk rather than competing for attention. The fine tip extends the pen's use beyond marking into annotation and labeling, making the cap swap less of an interruption.

A water-based marker with two tips in one barrel: a broad tip for highlighting and a fine tip for writing notes. The colors lean soft and muted, the kind of palette that reads as thoughtful rather than loud.
